From an original ticket to the trial of Warren Hastings which features in her latest novel So Good In Black, to an Indian baby's silver milk spoon, these are the objects which decorate the shelves of Sunetra's study. They may not be there long but they could be there for a lifetime.
Food has always been an important ingredient in Sunetra's novels. In Moonlight into Marzipan there is a dinner in which the food is entirely black and Yuri Sen’s job is to act as the Savoy’s Black Cat; if there are to be thirteen guests at a table, his role is to sit there and make the numbers up to a less doom-laden fourteen. In The Glassblower’s Breath the characters enjoy a full alphabetical dinner.
